Product Overview
The Arch Roll Forming Machine (also known as K‑Span Machine or Arch Roof Building Machine) is a specialized cold roll forming system designed to produce continuous arched steel panels that form truss‑less, self‑supporting buildings. Unlike conventional roll forming machines that only produce flat roofing sheets, the arch machine performs two critical functions: first, it roll‑forms flat steel coil into a corrugated panel; second, it curves that panel into a precise arch shape using a hydraulic curving device. The complete system includes a roll forming section, a hydraulic curving attachment, and a portable seaming machine for on‑site assembly.
This machine processes galvanized steel (GI), color‑coated steel (PPGI), and galvalume coils into high‑strength arched panels that lock together via a proprietary seaming system—eliminating the need for any purlins, beams, or trusses. The resulting structure is entirely self‑supporting, spanning widths from 5 meters to over 40 meters without internal columns. Individual fabricated panels are seamed together by means of an electrically driven hand‑operated seaming machine that connects the panels into panel bays. These sectional bays are then raised and placed onto the foundation and joined to adjacent building sections.
Buildings as small as 5 meters wide and as large as 42 meters wide can be designed on site and constructed. K‑Span system arch roofs can be installed on masonry brick, concrete or steel structures, eliminating the need for a conventional roof support structure.
What Is an Arch Building?
An arched building is a self‑supporting structure without any girder, beam or truss. These structures can be used to satisfy almost any building function, including housing, warehousing and storage facilities, maintenance buildings, aircraft hangars, agricultural and livestock buildings, commercial facilities, recreational structures, and any other use that may be required.
Key advantages of arch panel buildings:
- ✅ Clear span – No interior columns. Maximum usable floor space.
- ✅ Fast construction – A complete building can be erected in days, not weeks.
- ✅ Lower cost – Fewer components, less steel, less labour.
- ✅ Strong & durable – Curved shape gives inherent strength. Withstands heavy snow and wind loads.
- ✅ Flexible sizes – Length can be any multiple of panel width. Span determined by arch radius.
- ✅ Portable / relocatable – Arch buildings can be disassembled and moved.

Optional equipment / configurations:
- Mobile / trailer‑mounted arch machine – On‑site production at job sites. Towed behind a truck. Self‑contained with diesel generator option.
- Automatic stacker – For finished arch panels.
- High‑speed flying cut – Continuous cutting without stopping the line.
- Double‑layer arch machine – Produce two different arch profiles.
- Uncoiler with coil car – Heavy‑duty decoiler (5t – 15t capacity).
- Pre‑punching unit – For bolt holes on panel ends.
Production Line Flow
Decoiler → Leveling & Feeding → Roll Forming (forming trapezoidal profile) → Curve Adjustment (forming arch radius) → PLC Length Setting → Hydraulic Cutting → Output (direct to building site)
- Positioning – The trailer‑mounted arch machine is towed to the job site and leveled.
- Coil loading – Steel coil is loaded onto the decoiler (often a coil trailer or separate unit).
- Feed & form – The strip passes through roller stations that form the trapezoidal panel profile.
- Curve adjustment – A special set of rollers imparts the arch radius (adjustable for different spans). The operator sets the required span (e.g., 15m) and the machine adjusts the curve automatically or manually.
- Length setting – Operator sets panel length (equal to the building length, e.g., 30m). Long panels are guided onto temporary supports or directly onto the building foundation.
- Cutting – Hydraulic shear cuts the panel at the correct length.
- Assembly – Panels are immediately side‑lapped and bolted together to form the complete arch. No transport of finished panels – production happens at the building site.
Finished Arch Panel Gallery + Completed Buildings
- Trapezoidal arch panel (700mm / 760mm coverage) – Most common profile for arch buildings.
- Corrugated arch panel – Alternative profile for smaller spans or agricultural use.
- Galvanized arch building – Warehouse or grain storage (no paint, economical).
- Pre‑painted arch building – Coloured arch building for gymnasium or commercial use (red, green, grey, blue).
- Mobile arch machine on site – Producing panels directly at the job location.
FAQ – Arch Roll Forming Machine
What is the advantage of arch buildings?
Clear span (no columns), fast construction (days instead of weeks), lower material cost (no secondary steel), and can be relocated.
What spans can you achieve?
Typically 6m – 30m clear span, depending on steel thickness and profile. We can design for larger spans on request.
What thickness of steel is required?
0.5mm – 1.2mm (24–18 gauge). Thicker steel for larger spans and snow/wind loads.
What is the difference between stationary and mobile arch machines?
Stationary is installed in a factory; you transport finished panels to job sites. Mobile is trailer‑mounted and towed to job sites, producing panels on‑location – eliminates transport of long curved panels.
